Welcome to Earth....3rd rock from the Sun :)

What is the difference between a planet and a moon?  Choose 2 (two) different planets and compare/contrast them.

  1. a planet orbits a star and a moon orbits a planet. Both mars and earth have water but not enough for life on mars. Mars is much smaller than the earth.

  2. The difference of a moon and planet is that there are more than one moon but there is not more planets. Both Mercury and Earth are inner planets. But Mercury is much smaller.

  3. A moon is anatural satellite that move around a planet and a planet is a mass of rock/gasses that orbit a star.Venus is very simmilar in size to earth and its atomosphere is very thick.Murcury is about the size of moon and has no atomosphre. They are both very rocky planets.

  4. A planet orbits the sun, and a moon orbits a planet. Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and the second largest planet.Saturn has seven thin, flat rings around it and 62 moons.
Venus is the second planet from the sun. Venus does not have any moons or rings. It is the brightest object in the sky after the sun and moon.

  5. A planet like Earth orbits the sun,but a moon orbits a planet.Mars and Earth. Mars and Earth are both planets, but they are very different.Mars is smaller than Earth but has the same amount of land.Eath supports human life and has flowing water.

  6. A planet orbits the sun and a moon orbits a planet.Mars and Pluto are planets, but Pluto is a dwarf planet and Mars is smaller than Earth but has the same amount of land. While Pluto is the smallest and is made out of ice and rock and neither can support life.

  7. a moon orbits a planet and a planet orbits the sun for an example Earth orbits the sun the moon orbits earth

  8. A planet has weather a moon does NOT!!!!!!! Also planets revolve around the sun a moon revolves around a planet like Tyler said an example:the moon orbits earth.Earth and mars are both planets but only earth supports life earth has many temps. warm and cold mars is FREEEEEEZING COLD I have heard that scientist think when earth dies out we will move to mars and wear very heavy clothes but will we do when mars dies?....

  9. A moon revolves around a planet, and a planet revolves around the Sun. Example: Earth goes around the Sun, and the Earth's moon of revolves around Earth. The moon has no water, but Earth does.Earth also has plant life, but the moon doesn't.The biggest difference is that you can't breath on the Earth, but you can't on the moon.

  10. A planet revolves around the sun..... A moon reloves around a planet... Saturn has rings.. Mars does not have rings.. But people cant live on either of them.....

  11. The planet rotates the sun, and the moon rotates the planet.

  12. The moon reflects light off of the sun, while the sun just shines light on planets.
Earth goes around the sun, and supports life. While Pluto is the smallest planet and is made of rock and ice and does not support life.

  13. A planet orbits a star and the moon orbits a planet.the dif between uranus and pluto are.uranus is the seventh planet and pluto is the last planet in the solar system(dwarf planet).pluto is the smallest planet in the solar system and uranus is the thuds lagerest planet in the solar system

  14. The difference between a moon and planet is a planet orbits the sun, and a moon orbits their planet. Mars and Earth both have about the same amount of land area. Mars is home to the largest volcano. Earth is home to living things.

  15. The moon orbits the planet. The planet orbits the sun. Jupiter the largest planet in the solar system and Jupiter has a nonstopping storm on it.Mars is more hotter than jupiter. But it has the largest volcano.

  16. The differance between a planet and a moon is Earth, for example, orbits a star, known as the Sun. That rule goes for all of the planets in a solar system. Moons orbit around planets. Though both planets have craters, Mercury`s surface has very many craters, but Venus has very few. Mercury is 57.9 million km. from the sun. Venus is 108 million km. from the sun. Both planets are in the solar system.

  17. The differance between a planet and a moon is that a planet orbits a star but a moon orbits a planet. Venus and Mars are both small and rocky planets.Venus's surface is very hot, but Mars surface is cold and lifeless.

  18. My comparison is on Uranus and Earth. First of all, the moon revolves around Earth and planets revolve around the Sun. Uranus is tilted sideways and the moon isn't. Technically Uranus is completely sideways.

  19. The planet revolves around the sun, while the moon is revolving around the planet.I'm compareing Earth and Satern. They both are in the same solar system, but are in different parts .Like Earth is in the inner planets, while Satern is in the outer planets.
